My 10 yr old son's letter to Rick Perry about education budget cuts:

Dear Rick Perry,
Remember the warm, breezy morning when you awoke from your nice long nap. You started getting butterflies in your empty stomach. You're going to school to meet your new fourth grade teacher. Now, imagine months going by, day after day seeing your wonderful teacher. Feeling so happy and cheerful each day your teacher is at school. Imagine spending time in the huge library awaiting until you find the perfect book, looking forward to the next day when you have art. Then the next when you have music. Imagine time after time after time you have a wonderful workout for a while and it seems so fun at PE. Now, imagine waking up a cold dark day but your spirits still high. Then when you go to school you know something is wrong. Imagine your wonderful teacher FIRED! ART & MUSIC GONE! The library CLOSED! PE not as long! All the things you loved GONE! Don't do this, please. I don't want that stuff gone! I know you can make a difference. At lease try! That's the least you can do. Please think about it. I don't ask for anything else just to make a change. The teachers at my school haven't been fired yet. You have time to decide. Please decide before it is too late.
Fourth grade boy,
Harrison Lloyd
